GEF-SGP UNDP funds Hydroponic System to Cedar Grove Primary School by Jamalee Jarvis

St. George’s, Cedar Grove 7th October, 2026. A continuation to the activities under the funded GEF SGP UNDP programme entitled Sustainable Agricultural Community Outreach and Food Security Programmes through Education Partnership using Innovative Approaches, which focused on food production using modern techniques while fostering the collaboration between special needs students and neuro-typical students.
Similar to the Victory Center the Cedar Grove Primary School now have their “Hydroponics systems commissioned with both schools now planting several leafy vegetables such as thyme, lettuce, kale and parsley.
Students from both schools continue work together specifically within the school’s Agricultural Science programme, an initiative implemented between both learning institutions showing that both types of students can coexist through specific actions.
The project is coordinated by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) through collaborative support from various government ministries and the private sector.
