A Tribute – Happy 84th Anniversary IICA
This journey began since 1942 in Turrialba, Costa Rica. Over the years, it grew from a small organization into an important partner to many organizations such as CARDI, FAO and UNDP in addition to countries in this region.
The nation of Antigua and Barbuda benefited technically and financially from IICA and this support still continues. Some of IICA’s contributions were through training, workshops, sharing knowledge, and networking with agriculture officers and farmers.
The partnership and collaborative assistance of IICA are also extended and offered to other Caribbean countries such as Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago. Each country has its own challenges in agriculture, but working together allows countries to share ideas, learn from each other, and find better ways to support farmers and the industry within the Caribbean and Latin America.
84 years is a significant milestone and one of exemplary performance and worthy of commendation. IICA, feel proud of your achievements, celebrate the work that has been done over the years, and continue the legacy. There is still more to teach, support and strive for higher heights as we continue working together for the betterment of the Agricultural sector and a sustainable future.
