Sap-Sucking Insects by Jamalee Jarvis

Sap-sucking insects are small bugs that feed on plants. Some of them are aphids, mealybugs, scales, whiteflies, leafhoppers, and planthoppers.
These bugs use their small mouth parts to suck the sap from the plant. This can make the leaves turn yellow, curl up, or become weak. They can also leave behind a sticky liquid called honeydew. This can bring ants and cause black mold to grow on the leaves.
These bugs can also spread plant diseases from one plant to another. This can hurt the crops and make it harder for farmers to grow healthy plants.
Farmers should check their plants often and look for these bugs. Finding them early can help stop the plants from getting badly damaged.
