Backyard Gardeners Collect Seedlings for Plant2Plate Competition in Antigua- Tyreke G Thomas-Horsford

🌱 On January 15, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., backyard gardeners gathered at the Agricultural Extension Division (AED) office on Valley Road, Antigua, to collect seedlings distributed as part of the Plant2Plate Competition.
The distribution was attended by Hon. Anthony Smith Jr., the Minister of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries & the Blue Economy, along with Mr. Walter Christopher/Permanent Secretary, whose presence emphasized the governments and MoA staff commitment to supporting community agriculture and food security.
👩‍🌾👨‍🌾 Gardeners lined up eagerly to receive their seedlings, marking the beginning of their crop-growing journey. With seedlings in hand, participants expressed excitement about cultivating their backyard plots and contributing to the competition’s vision of transforming household spaces into productive gardens.
