MOA Communications Unit Presents at Sir Novelle Richards Academy by Brent Simon
Students of the Sir Novelle Richards Academy were introduced to career options across many sectors that would be available to them after completing their scholastic studies, at a Career Day event held at the academy on Wednesday,9th April,2025.
Ms. Carol-Faye Bynoe-George/Head of Communications at the Ministry of Agriculture, engaged with over sixty (60) first and second form students of this institution in a session held in an area in the school known as the “Italian Block”.
It was a highly interactive session with the students enquiring about the many jobs and career choices available in the agricultural industry. A few of the students commented that, they had no idea that the agricultural industry was so diverse and developed.
Ms. Bynoe – George encouraged the students not to shy away from the industry pointing out to them that not only is agriculture the oldest known profession and it is still essential to every society because every person eats for survival and agriculture is what provides that sustenance.
“We are past the era where agriculture is considered “dirty work”, with modern technology we are in the era with other methods of production such as aquaponics and hydroponics. Without Agriculture we will fail to exist, everyone has their part to play in Food Security and as a nation acknowledging this industry as an essential service is the first step in the right direction” disclosed Bynoe-George.
