Dr. Linroy Christian participated in 16th International Conference on Mercury by J’Naye Charles & Carol-Faye Bynoe-George

Dr. Linroy Christian, director of Analytic Services was formally invited as a speaker to the 16th International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant (ICMGP) that was held from the 21st to the 26th of July 2024 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in Cape Town South Africa. The conference was organized by ICMGP and the Ministry of the Environment, Government of Japan (MOEJ).

The Minata Convention on Mercury is one of the newest international environmental instruments that protect human health and the environment from the release of mercury and mercury compounds. MOEJ is promoting the MINAS program, designed to support developing countries’ efforts in mercury management. With this program, they have taken survey missions to identify mercury management needs in developing countries. With their findings, they have recognized that appropriate Mercury monitoring can be provided by Japan.

Other speakers at this high-level meeting were from Canada, South Africa, Taiwan, USA and Japan.
