AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION OFFICERS ON THE MOVE #7
Agricultural Extension Officers on the Move #7 by Carol-Faye Bynoe-George
Yesterday 24th April there was another training session for farmers, backyard gardeners and other stakeholders on Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals.
This was a highly informative and interactive session and the eleven participants were very motivated and encouraged by the timely training and much needed information. The organizers and facilitators were Mr. Victor Wade, Mr. Kenrick Francis and Miss Anika Aska/Agricultural Extension Officers. “The workshop was awesome and very interactive. Persons told me that they didn’t realize that they were doing things so wrong and requested copies of the material presented for future use”, according to Mr. Wade. Miss Aska also reiterated that it was one of the best sessions she facilitated due to the participation of the attendees.
The Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) continue to encourage persons in the general public with keen interest in the Agricultural sector to pay attention to the trainings that are being offered and they are free of cost and only take a little of your time.
The next upcoming training is the “Soil Doctor” initiative scheduled for 30th April and commencing promptly from 5:30p.m. For more information, please contact the MOA Agricultural Extension Division or your district officers.
