Introduction
One health is an integrated unifying approach that aims to sustainably balance and optimize the health of people, animals, and ecosystems. It recognizes the health of humans, domestic and wild animals, plants, and the wider environment (including ecosystems) are closely linked and inter-dependent. With the COVID-19 pandemic signaling a historic moment to build transformative resilience across our health, food and ecosystems, the momentum to strengthen a One Health approach is gaining better attention. The CFCS is therefore organizing a youth video contest “One Health” to invite our youth in the Caribbean to demonstrate how the one health approach works for animals, plants, humans, and the environment.
Description
The video competition objectives are to:
1. Raise awareness of the “One Health” approach and its contribution to sustainable agriculture.
2. Share information and knowledge in the region.
3. Establish priorities for mobilization of scientific, technical, and financial resources to achieve the one health approach.
The project is divided into various stages:
1. Developing the story and capturing it in a 1–2-minute video. Develop a storyboard capturing the theme “One Health.” Incorporate still and moving pictures. Incorporate the dialogue in either English, Spanish, French of Dutch.
2. Submit the video to the CFCS review and selection committee.
3. Upload the video to the CFCS YouTube channel.
4. The video will be streamed during the CFCS 57th Annual Meeting in the Dominican Republic and on the CFCS’s YouTube Channel.
