Agricultural Extension Officers on the MOVE……..Part 1
On Monday 22nd January, Extension Officers – Anika Aska and Craig Joseph assisted the Ministry of Education Agricultural Science Programme by tilling the land in preparation for planting crops at some school farms. Both officers went off to the Buckleys Primary School, where they used a rototiller for the land preparation.
A rototiller is basically a machine that is used for loosening up the soil. It is used for gardening and it works by utilizing turning blades through a motor, that help to prepare the soil to grow plants, fruit, or vegetable.
Upon request submitted either to the Agricultural Extension Division or to an Extension Officer, schools, backyard gardeners and farmers will receive the assistance needed.
