Financial Literacy Workshop

Recently a Financial Literacy Workshop specifically organized for Women and Agricultural related groups and associations in Antigua and Barbuda.
The initiative was supported by the international Labour Organisation (ILO), who has been working in collaboration with the United Nation on a multi-country project- commonly referred to as the Human Security project, which through a combination of policy reform advocacy, technical support, and services, aims to contribute to human security for farmers and small agro & fisheries entrepreneurs.The project seeks to support these targeted beneficiaries in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Dominica, St. Lucia over a period of three (3) years.
The session has facilitated by Ms. Janille Huggins, a consultant from the International Labour Organization ( ILO) from the period July 18-19, 2023 from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Agricultural Extension Division. A main objective of the sessions was to build the capacity of Women, farmers groups and associations, and raise awareness on financial management and climatic risk insurance, particularly in the Agricultural sector.
A total of 28 stakeholders participated in the  two (2) day sessions. These included Home-based Gardeners, Farmers, members of the Antigua and Barbuda Beekeepers Cooperative, the Coconut Queens, Rasta Food for Life and the Antigua and Barbuda Association for Persons with disabilities.
