Fisheries Division featured at SNRA Career Day
The Fisheries Division within the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Barbuda Affairs was prominently featured at the Sir Novelle Richards Academy’s (SNRA) Career Day held earlier today (Thur) in Potters Village.
The four-member team catered to two groups of students who were told about the work of the Fisheries Division, its Research activities and the students were shown videos on various subject areas related to the field of work.
Senior Fisheries Officer Tricia Lovell said that the interests shown by the groups were generally encouraging.
The Fisheries Division is an enforcement and regulating agency which deals with the licensing and registration of all fishing vessels within Antigua and Barbuda.
It also regulates activities with regards to measures for the conservation of various species or particular fishing gear and manages marine and coastal assets such as wetland, sea grass and coral reefs.
“Raising the Standard through Dedication and Commitment” is the Motto of the SNRA.
