GARD Center jointly conducts Climate Smart Agriculture training course

The Gilbert Agricultural and Rural Development (GARD) Center is joining forces with Sandals foundation Jamaica, the Agricultural Extension Division, CARDI and IICA to offer an extensive training course in Climate Smart Agriculture.
The programme, which will run for duration of 10 weeks, is scheduled to begin on 27th May, 2019.
The Organisers are encouraging persons to register today as only 15 persons will be accepted. The registration fee is $50.00 and a valid photo ID is required. A payment plan is also available.
The Climate Smart Agricultural Course will place special emphasis on Hydroponics and those who complete the course will build their own mini Hydroponics Unit.
Focus will also be placed on Drip Irrigation, Mulching Techniques, Food Security and Safety, Plant Nursery Management along with training in IT and Life Skills.
Transportation will be provided from 8:30 am at the West Bus Station for those wishing to attend the course at the GARD Center.
