AFBAHLUR pronounced AF-BAH-LUR, is a unique name which was a formation from the combination of two (2) ministries. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Barbuda Affairs (MAFBA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing, Lands and Urban Renewal (MHLUR) now have a Softball Cricket team.<\/p>\n

Yesterday Sunday 16th October the Sherma Jackson Cool N Smooth Business League Tournament held its Opening Ceremony at Potter\u2019s Playing Field. Sherma Jackson was an employee of MAFBA, who played soft ball cricket but passed away last year. Her love and involvement of the sport influenced the creation of this competition in her honour.\u00a0 Coincidentally, the first ball bowled by Jackson’s sister was bat by Colin O’Keiffe, Permanent Secretary of MAFBA.<\/p>\n

The participating teams in this short ten (10) overs tournament are PEL Desi Boys, Living Style AGS, TG Welding, AFBAHLUR United, Antigua & Barbuda Defence Force, Time of Victory and Lee\u2019s Landscaping Freetown. Matches will be played on 16th and 23rd October at the Potter\u2019s Playing Field and starts at 11:00. Please attend and SUPPORT.<\/p>\n
