This initiative, a collaboration between the Global Youth Coalition (GYC) and the University of Oxford, aims to equip participants with the knowledge and confidence needed to effectively engage in climate policy discussions. The programme offers a unique blend of perspectives, combining the expertise of young climate leaders and seasoned researchers.<\/p>\n<p aria-hidden=\"true\">\n<p><strong>Programme Details:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Duration:<\/strong>\u00a03 September &#8211; 1 October 2024, with a final session on 1 November 2024.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Schedule:<\/strong>\u00a0Sessions will be held between 1-5 pm UTC, with timings adjusted to suit the cohort&#8217;s time zones.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong>\u00a010 August 2024, 23:59 UTC. Admissions are on a rolling basis, with all decisions communicated by 23 August 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Special Opportunity: COP29 Bursary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Through the support of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/un.mdrtor.com\/track\/link\/key\/90130-1311-5871-2-4074-13223\/signature\/fc85775b7ce66a0bed3ffbc60e2552e4\/userid\/e48c956db4435631ecacf0200bb068d1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-outlook-id=\"36cead79-8ccb-4a09-be09-055d99ac727f\" data-linkindex=\"1\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">ClimateWorks Foundation<\/a>, 5 bursaries will be offered to participants to attend COP29. This bursary, up to \u00a33000, covers travel, accommodation, food, and transport. Please note, accreditation is not included.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Process:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Apply for the GYCT Programme:<\/strong>\u00a0Interested individuals should apply via the provided link. Successful applicants will be invited to complete a secondary application for the COP29 bursary.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bursary Criteria:<\/strong>\u00a0Priority is given to applicants from diverse regions and groups most impacted by climate change.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Background:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The GYCT programme was launched in May 2023 and has since trained over 4,500 activists from 177 countries. The curriculum, developed with input from young climate justice activists, covers critical topics such as Climate Finance, Loss &amp; Damage, and Adaptation &amp; Resilience.
