PESTICIDES WITH NORMAL REQUIREMENTS<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Application dossiers should be bound in hard cover binders, and be submitted in
    \ntriplicate. They should be correctly indexed in the order presented below for easy
    \nreference.<\/li>\n
  2. The package size (s) in which the product will be imported.<\/li>\n
  3. Detailed literature in respect of the chemistry and composition of the product
    \n(including percentages of all ingredients), its efficacy, toxicology, antidotes
    \n(together with any available references) and precautions to be observed before,
    \nduring and after use.
    \nN.B. If the active ingredient is registered, only information on the
    \nformulation and the composition of the product is required.<\/li>\n
  4. Six sample copies of the label proposed to be used in connection with the new
    \npesticide, along with samples of the packaging materials and inserts to be used for
    \ntrade packages. Labels should be in the English language, and should conform to
    \nthe labeling standards of the PTCCB.<\/li>\n
  5. A certificate of analysis which contains:
    \na) An assay report on a recent batch of the product analysed.
    \nb) The method of analysis used (This is only required if the active ingredient is
    \nunregistered).<\/li>\n
  6. A duly authenticated and legalized certificate of free sale from the competent
    \nauthority with whom the product is registered in the country of origin, and the
    \nconditions under which it may be sold in that country, also a copy of the label
    \nstamped as being approved by that Authority.<\/li>\n
  7. A statement showing:
    \na) The countries in which the product is registered for Free Sale other than the
    \ncountry of origin.
    \nb) Any country in which the product has been refused registration for Free
    \nSale and the reasons for refusal.<\/li>\n
  8. A certificate in the English language from the manufacturer, respecting the
    \nsafety of the new pesticide, recommended conditions for use, and the
    \nconditions under which it is recommended for sale.<\/li>\n
  9. A copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) or Product Data Sheet.<\/li>\n
  10. A statement specifying the crop\/pests to be covered. State scientific names where
    \npossible, application rate (dosage), and re-entry and pre-harvest periods where
    \napplicable.<\/li>\n
  11. Certificates should be authenticated by the Antiguan Embassy or Antiguan
    \nConsulate in that country and in cases where none of these are present, by the
    \nBritish High Commission or the British Embassy.<\/li>\n
  12. An analytical standard is required (on request) for all products with a new active
    \ningredient.<\/li>\n
  13. The prescribed application fee of EC 500.00 five hundred made payable to the
    \nMinistry of Agriculture\/PTCCB.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    PESTICIDES WITH LESS STRINGENT REQUIREMENTS<\/h2>\n

    The following types of pesticides will have fewer requirements for registration:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. \u00a0Any product or substance that is manufactured, represented, sold or used as a
      \nmeans of directly or indirectly attracting or repelling any pest.<\/li>\n
    2. This includes any compound or substance that enhances or modifies or is intended
      \nto enhance or modify the physical or chemical characteristic of a pesticide to
      \nwhich it is added.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      For such pesticides the active ingredients must have a toxicity level classified above
      \nthe World Health Organization (WHO) Class III category.<\/p>\n

      The requirements for registration of these pesticides include:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. A complete application form (Form1)<\/li>\n
      2. Material safety Data Sheet (MSDS)<\/li>\n
      3. Label (3copies)<\/li>\n
      4. Name and address of the manufacturer<\/li>\n
      5. Package sizes to be imported<\/li>\n
      6. Crops and pest to be covered in Antigua<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Dossiers are to be submitted in triplicate.<\/p>\n

        The Pesticides & Toxic Chemicals Control Board reserves the right to request
        \nadditional information.<\/p>\n

        PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION OF A PESTICIDE<\/h2>\n
        \n
        Application Form to be completed by Registrant
        \nApplicant should be an Antiguan National or a company registered in Antigua.<\/div>\n
        \n
        \u2193<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
        Application submitted to Registrar\u2019s office and checked for completion<\/div>\n
        \n
        \u2193<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
        Only completed applications will be accepted.<\/div>\n
        \n
        \u2193<\/div>\n
        Incomplete documents returned to registrant<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
        Upon acceptance of application, a fee of EC $500.00 is to be paid to the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Control Board.
        \nOnly cash or manager\u2019s Cheques will be accepted. Cheques should be made payable to PTCCB receipt of payment to be returned to the Registrar\u2019s office.<\/div>\n

        Application assessed by resource persons
        \nRecommendations made to PTCCB.
        \nDecision on the application made by PTCCB.<\/div>\n
        \n
        \u2193<\/div>\n
        Application advised if registration is denied<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
        Registration informed on conditions of registration
        \nRegistration approved for a Three (3) year period.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

        REQUIREMENTS FOR RE-REGISTRATION OF A PESTICIDE<\/h2>\n

        Application dossiers should be bound in hard cover binders.<\/p>\n

        Information required includes:<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Three (3) copies of original label (not photocopies).<\/li>\n
        2. A Material Safety Data sheet (MSDS) on the product.<\/li>\n
        3. Details regarding the uses of the pesticide. Specify the crops\/pests to be covered.
          \nState the common and scientific names (where possible).<\/li>\n
        4. The prescribed application fee of EC 500.00 is to be made payable to the Pesticides
          \nand toxic Chemicals Control Board and is due upon acceptance of a completed
          \napplication.
          \nOther information that may be required includes:<\/li>\n
        5. The package size(s) in which the product will be imported or sold.<\/li>\n
        6. Detailed literature with regard to the chemistry and composition of the product
          \n(including percentages of all ingredients).<\/li>\n
        7. A duly authenticated and legalized certificate of free sale from the competent
          \nauthority with whom the product I registered in the country of origin, and the
