Our mandate includes coordinating national ocean-related policies, supporting the growth of responsible ocean industries, building local capacity, strengthening international partnerships, and promoting awareness of the value of our marine environment. Public education also plays a major role\u2014helping citizens understand how the ocean supports everything from food security and jobs to climate resilience and cultural identity.<\/p>\n<p>While the Department is still young, our progress over the past year has been significant. We have begun establishing the foundation for a modern, science-based, and forward-looking Blue Economy\u2014one that positions Antigua and Barbuda as a regional leader.<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Our Vision Moving Forward<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Blue Economy belongs to all of us. Our mission is to ensure that every citizen\u2014regardless of background\u2014benefits from the opportunities our ocean provides.
